When Luke had felt through his link with River a moment with pure pain and then nothing, he knew that something had happened to River. He raced through the park, trying to find her. He finally did, with a stab wound inher chest.
"River!" he shouted, seeing her. He fell to her side, and put her head in his lap. He stroked her hair.
"Come on, Riv," he said, "Hold on, hold on. Liz! Wyatt! Help! Someone!"
His voice was louder as he called for help. River couldn't die.
